Stopper Knots are tied into ropes to prevent them from sliding through other knots, adding security.  Below are examples of Overhand, Double Overhand, and Figure 8 stopper knots.

Ropes that pick up items are extremely useful in theatre.  Below are examples of the Bowline, Double Figure 8, and Slip Knot.

There are many times that a rope needs to connect to a pipe or batten, usually suspending an item from that pipe.  Below are examples of the Clove Hitch and Taut Line Hitch.

If your rope is not long enough, you may need to attach it to another rope.  Below are examples of a Sheet Bend and Square Knot.
